Bridge Monitoring During Construction and Operation

SMIS systems for monitoring technical condition of bridge structures throughout their life cycle

In recent years, great attention has been paid to scientific and technical support and monitoring of the stress-strain state (SSS) of structures during construction and subsequent operation.

Monitoring Objectives

Monitoring the technical condition of transport structures is long-term control over parameters characterizing the stress-strain state of bridge structures to identify negative changes at an early stage, both during construction and during operation.

Mandatory Monitoring

In accordance with SP 274.1325800.2016 "Bridges", monitoring is mandatory for: long-span bridges with spans over 100m, bridges with supports over 15m high, bridges requiring non-standard calculation methods, and bridges in dense urban development.

Monitored Parameters

  • Displacements and deformations of span structures
  • Tilt angles of supports and pylons
  • Vibrations and dynamic loads
  • Temperature effects
  • Stresses in key structural elements
